Our Mums are always telling us that there is nothing worse than seeing a young girl wearing TOO much make-up badly! As annoying as it is to admit, our Mums are probably right. The thing is, all we really want is to look like a prettier version of ourselves, but we can’t achieve this by applying so much make-up that we look like men in drag! Of course, there are always times when we want to wear more make-up because it’s fun – especially for parties. More about party make-up later but for now, I’m going to show you how just a little bit of make-up can make a big difference.

1. Apply foundation to give a flawless even skin tone – as described in my previous post.

2. Apply a subtle coloured blush – either a pale pink or a coral colour depending on your skin tone. My top tip is to smile as you apply, so that you only put blusher on the apple of your cheeks. You don’t want a big stripe or blob!

3. Apply mascara – not too much as you don’t want your lashes looking like spider’s legs!

4. Apply a fun but natural coloured lip stick or gloss to finish off the look.
